emilylorraine asked: okay, well I am hanging out with this girl named Kait today, we are going to go to the harleysville fair later, if they are having fire works later in the night. then she is sleeping over, and in the morning we are going to go hiking.
Oh awesome, that sounds like fun
Well hello there beautiful. You and I are gonna have some great adventures together.
Meet someone new
Making the transition from mind to paper is more difficult than one would think sometimes. I’m quickly discovering some of the challenges in writing a book. While I have many of the scenes splayed out in my head, I’m finding it difficult to transition these scenes into an elegant flow of written word. Even when I do, I’m having a challenging time extending the scene far enough so that it consumes more than just a page or two. Further complicating all of these issues is my inability to choose a format for the story.
So far I’ve been working on a 1st person style ‘journal’, telling the story to the reader as if they had discovered the writings of the protagonist. This presents more challenges to the length issue, as well as leaving the reader in the dark to certain elements of the story such as the perspective and thoughts of other characters.
While I’ve considered taking an omniscient point of view, I have noticed in the past that this is one of my biggest weaknesses as a writer. I find it difficult to properly express the point of views of multiple characters and different locations without getting too sidetracked from the main plot line. Though I suppose its just like anything else in life. The only way to make improve is practice.
Haven’t written anything in quite awhile. Work gets so boring some nights, I think I’m gonna use the down time to begin writing my book. You all know what that means? New notebook time! :D

Huh. My finger tips look like they got sliced up by a bunch of little razors. So many paper cuts.
I wrote this one night while I was bored out of my mind during a twelve hour shift.
The inane ramblings of a bored press assistant:
More than six hours in
Eyelids still fluttering
Feet are aching, don’t know why I’m standing
Press is motionless
As its been most of the night
Wouldn’t complain, but boredom and sleep deprivation set in long ago
Pay day still nine days away
Three more till a days rest or two
This quickly deteriorated from a poem to rambling
Buth then, its art, its a poem because I say it is
That’s how that works right?
God dammit I’m bored
